Rassada Pier Phuket

Tourists can reach various islands surrounding Phuket, such as Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Ao Nang (Nopparatthara), Railay, Krabi town, and Koh Lipe, through the pier where speedboats and ferries are available. The Rassada Pier Phuket is located on the island’s south east coast, which is approximately 4 km away from Phuket Town. It usually takes an hour to arrive from the airport.

Also, the pier is busiest in the morning when many people are travelling to Koh Phi Phi. There are different types of boats available starting at 8.30 am to take visitors to the islands. If you want to grab something to eat before leaving, there are several snack and beverage shops inside the pier.

Rassada Pier

If you plan to travel from Rassada Pier during the high season that is between November and April, it is a good idea to book your tickets in advance rather than waiting to buy them on the day of travel. Booking tickets in advance is advisable because they get fully booked, and it is not uncommon, even in the low season that is between May and October.

Here’s how to get to Koh Phi Phi

    • You can take a ferry to Koh Phi Phi, which will take around 2-3 hours. A one-way trip costs about 600 – 1,200 baht, depending on which pier you arrive at.
    • You can also take a speedboat which will only take 1 hour to Tonsai pier and 1.5 hours to Laemtong Beach, but it’s more expensive than the ferry, so book in advance, especially during high season.
    • Ferries leave Rassada Pier from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, but schedules may change depending on the season or weather.

The fastest way to get there is by taking a speedboat. However, if you want to spend less money and don’t mind it being slower, you can buy a ferry ticket instead. The price of your travel will depend on the type of transportation you choose. A speedboat ride is the most costly option and usually costs about THB 800 – 1,200 one-way. If you want to save money, it’s better to take the ferry, and the ticket will only cost 450 – 700 THB one-way.
